Christmas Eve

It is Christmas Eve. Everywhere is snowy and everybody is happy. Mom gives Rosa a gift. The gift is in a colorful box. Rosa takes the lid off the box. She sees the gift inside it. It is a beautiful doll. The doll has beautiful clothes. The doll speaks and walks. She likes the gift. She kisses her mom. Mom smiles.

Good music, bad music

Jack is 4 years old. He sits in the car. His dad turns on the DVD player for him. He starts clapping and swaying his head. His dad starts laughing at him. The song is over. He listens to the next song too. He does not like the new song. He sits quietly.

untidy girl

Sara’s bedroom is untidy. There is a piece of chocolate cake under the desk. There is glue on the door. There are some color pencils on the floor. Sara does not care about the mess. She plays the piano on his computer keyboard. Her mom goes into her room. She turns off the computer. She shouts at her mom. She starts to clean her dirty room.

A new city

Kathy moves to a new big city. There are many buildings and tall towers. There are many busses and taxis. She feels lonely here. Everyone and everything are really different here. She goes to her new university. She finds a lovely friend. She asks her to show her around.

Mother’s Day

Today is Mother’s Day. Ali surprises his mother. He serves her lunch. There are chicken, rice, salad and soda on the table. Ali’s mother is joyful. Later he helps his mother to clean up the house. Finally, they watch TV with each other. It was such a lovely day.

A new project

The teacher, Mr. Jackson, assigns a new electronic project. He wants them to work in teams. Kate, Sara and Jenny are in group A. Kate is good at drawing, Sara is a technical girl and Jenny is good at project management. They are all smart and good at team works. They make a perfect team. They turn in their project. Their teacher like it. They achieve a good score. They are so glad.

Fever

Andy feels sick. His mother touches his forehead. Andy has a fever. His mother takes him to a hospital. The doctor gives him a toy. She tells him to take a pill. Andy goes back home with her. He takes the pill on time and drinks lots of water. He does this for about a week. He is fine again.

In the zoo

Bob goes to the zoo with his sister. They see 5 rabbits. The rabbits have beautiful eyes. They see a monkey. The monkey is playing with a red ball. They see many turtles in the lake. They are slow. They see two elephants. The elephants have long trunks. They also see two giraffes.

an accident

Tom goes out to play with his friends. He runs around. He falls down. It hurts a lot. He starts crying. His mom takes him to the nurse in the hospital. The nurse is kind. She looks friendly. The nurse gives him a bandage. He feels ok now. They walk back home. His mom buys him a chocolate ice cream.

Boring class

The students are in the classroom. The teacher is teaching history. The students are bored. They want to go out and play in the yard. They look at the clock. The clock moves slowly. The students continue to wait. Finally, the class is over. They run out happily.

Tom is hungry. He goes to the kitchen. He opens the refrigerator. He sees some cake and fruit. The apples are so tasty. The chocolate cake is sweet. The vanilla ice cream is cold. The pomegranates are sour. The cereal is not delicious. His mom comes home. She gives him a cheese sandwich with tomato. It is perfect.

Jim does not like history. Jim starts talking about ice creams. His friends laugh at him. He never does his homework. The teacher is upset. He tells them to stand in the corner of the class. Jim goes to the corner. It is not easy to be quiet. He thinks about his family. He thinks about his dog. Ten minutes pass. The teacher lets him sit again. He is happy now.

It is Jack’s birthday. He wakes up at 7. He says, “good morning” to everyone. Nobody says anything to him. His dad takes him to school. His friends do not say anything. The teacher does not say anything. Jack is sad. Jack walks back home alone. He rings the bell. The door is open. His friends and family members are holding a cake. They say, “Surprise Jack!”

Mike is walking. He sees a cat. The cat wags its tail. Mike likes the cat. It has no owner. Mike takes him home. Mike washes the cat. He names him “Pashoo.” He takes Pashoo to the vet. The cat is healthy. Mike plays with him. They love each other and are so happy.

The dog is bored. He tries to have fun. He plays with a small ball. He takes a nap. He licks a bone. He is still bored. He sees a white cat. The cat is drinking milk. The dog barks at the cat. The cat gets angry. The dog chases the cat. The dog is having fun. The cat climbs up the tree and escapes. The dog becomes bored again.

Jill wants to go to her school field trip. She needs 100 pounds. She wants to earn it herself. She decides to sell lemonade. She goes to the market. The lemons are not expensive. They are ripe enough. She buys sixty lemons. She prepares lemonade. Many people stand in queue. Her lemonade stand is successful. She makes enough money.

Tomorrow is the first day of university. Bob looks at his backpack. It has some holes on it. It is dirty and shabby. He needs a new one. His dad takes him to a shopping center. He can see so many backpacks. One backpack has red and yellow balloons. Another one has colorful stripes. Another one has cats and dogs. Bob likes the one with yellow balloons. He buys it happily.

Mike has a toothache. He tells his dad. His dad takes him to the dentist. Mike is afraid of going to the dentist. He enters the waiting room. There are two other children with their parents in the waiting room. The secretary calls Mike’s name. Mike goes inside the dentistry. Mike sits in the dentistry chair. He waits for the dentist. The dentist arrives after two minutes. He is careful with Mike’s teeth. He gives him a new toothbrush and a new toothpaste. Mike feels good. The dentist fixes his tooth’s decay.

Sarah needs a book. She does not have enough money. Her dad takes her to the library near their house. Sarah can borrow 3 books for free. Sarah enters the library with her father. There are so many books in the library. The books are about animals, pirates, plants, planets, etc. Sarah borrows 3 books about dinosaurs, cars and science.

He eats a slice of pie. It is sweet and tasty. He drops a crumb. The ants come out. The ants can smell it. They crawl towards the sweet crumb. He notices the ants, but he does not want to kill them. He likes them. He gets a small bowl. He let the ants inside the bowl. He opens the window and lets the ants go.

It is a special day today. Jack is dressed as a wizard. He goes trick-or-treating with Sam. He goes to Sam’s home. Sam is wearing an old overcoat. They ring the first doorbell. An old couple opens the door. Jack holds out her bag. He receives some chocolate and candy. He says, “Thank You!” The old couple smiles. Jack and Sam go to the next house.

Sam’s baseball team lost today morning. He is upset and walks home sadly. He sits down on the sofa. He starts crying. His dad sees him. He gives him a hug. Sam wipes his tears away and washes his face. Then, his mother buys him his favorite pizza. The hot pizza makes Sam smile. Sam loves pizzas. He realizes that losing and winning in games is natural.

Kate wants to have a pet. She likes turtles. Turtles are easy to take care of. Turtles are cute. Kate thinks she can take care of the turtle. She decides to go to the pet shop herself. He buys a small turtle. It is gray and brown. It swims very fast, but walks slowly. Kate puts the turtle in the flower bed. Kate gives the turtle some food. She puts her in a fish tank.

Britney is the oldest sister. She has a younger sister and a younger brother. Britney helps her parents with the chores around the house. She washes the dishes, mops the floor, cleans up the rooms, and picks up his younger brothers from school. Britney also teaches her sisters to be polite and do the right things. She tells them to be kind, honest, and friendly. Britney loves her family.

It is the dinner time. The kids go out with their parents to eat. They are excited and so hungry. Peter has a hotdog. In fact, he does not like hotdog. He wants a ham sandwich. Sam has a tuna sandwich. He thinks tuna is smelly. He would like to have a hot dog. Peter and Sam trade their sandwiches. Now, they eat what they want.

He has a lot of socks. He has three pairs of jeans. Two pairs of them are dark blue. The other one is light blue. He has two pairs of formal pants. One of them is gray. The other one is beige. She has two T-shirts. One of them has a photo of a skateboard on it. The other one has red and blue balls on it. He wears T-shirts every day.

She goes to a shoe shop. She sees a pair she likes. They are black and white. She tries them on. They are too tight. She asks for a bigger size. There is not. She takes a look at the other shoes. She sees another pair. They are bright yellow. She tries them on. They fit perfectly.

Ethan was playing tag with his friends. Tag is a game where one person is ‘wolf’ and chases the other players. Ethan is ‘wolf’. He is playing with six other people. He runs after Sara. Sara is ahead of him. But she runs slower than others. Ethan taps her on the shoulder. Sara falls down. She starts crying. One of the teachers runs towards him. “Did you push her down, Ethan?” the teacher asked. “No”! She just stumbled. I just tapped her shoulder,” Ethan said. The teacher did not believe him. He asks Sara if Ethan pushed him. She said no. The teacher said sorry to Ethan. Then Sara was not angry with Ethan. It was just a game.

I am practicing calligraphy. I practice calligraphy every Monday and Tuesday. My teacher shows me different types of calligraphy. I know how to write alphabets, words and sentences. I always want to get better, so I practice every day. My parents always tell me that I am a good artist. They think I can do it as an occupation.

It is summer time. It is a sunny day. He feels hot. He fans herself with a piece of paper, but it is still hot. He turns on the air conditioner. It is still hot. He has an idea. He jumps into a pool. It is still hot. His mother has an idea! She takes him to the ice cream shop. They share a chocolate split. After eating the ice cream, he does not feel hot anymore.

She has a test tomorrow morning at 8 o’clock. She studies hard. The next day, she takes the test. It is very hard, but she knows the answers. She answers all the questions. The teacher encourages her and gives her ‘A’.

John wants to do well on the history test tomorrow. He takes out his book and pamphlet. Then, his little sister enters his room. She starts crying and shouting out loud. She makes John mad. His mother then comes into his room. She asks him to set the dinner table. John yells at her. John tells his family that he is busy and cannot help them.

She is thirsty. She pours a glass of orange juice for herself. She accidentally spills some on her dress. Oh no! her mother will get mad. Her dress is really beautiful and expensive. She tries to clean it up. She puts it in the washing machine. She uses washing powder. She takes the dress to a laundromat. It works.

I am a new student in university. Everybody tells the class about himself. I tell the class about myself too. I am from Tehran, but now I live in Canada. I live with my friend. She is 2 years younger than me. Books are very important to me. And I like to read books and watch TV. I also play the piano. I hope to be a musician.

Mary goes to a theme park with her brother and friends. The roller coaster ride is fun, fast and thriller, but the queue is so long. Mary, her brother and her friends decide to wait. Mary tries to find ways to pass time. She plays games on her phone. She talks with others. She listens to music. 30 minutes pass. They are still in line.

Mr. Adam’s lectures are really boring. Students looks up at Mr. Adam to check what he is doing. He is writing something on the board. One of the students takes out her phone. She starts to chat. Mr. Adam walks over to her desk. He is angry. She takes the student’s phone away. She is in trouble.

Emily is sick. She goes to the doctor at the hospital near their house. The doctor gives her some medicine. She is still sick and weak after two weeks. Her mother tells her to go to sleep. She just lies in her bed all day long. Her mother gives her chicken soup and lots of fruit juice. She is still sick, but she is getting better.

She is very fat. She eats unhealthy foods. She loves fast foods. She eats red meat, potato chips and sweets. Her parents are worried about her. They forbid her from eating fattening foods. They change their diet. They cook healthy meals. They eat oatmeal and fruits for breakfast. They eat vegetables, fish, chicken for lunch. They eat salad and soup for dinner.

A Ferris wheel in a park is a big rotating wheel. It has many seats. Liam sits on one of them. His seat is brown. He is really excited and happy. He fastens his seatbelt. He holds on to the metal bar. Now he feels safe. The wheel moves. He starts to go up higher and higher. He looks down. The people seem so small now. He likes the view. It is so nice.

He gets some pocket money from his father. He give him $150 a month. He wants more. It was not enough for him. He asks his parents politely. They say no! he tries to change their minds. He helps them with sweeping the floor. He washes their cars. He makes them lunch. Her parents decide to give him a raise. He will get $200 a month.

Kathy always listens to her mom. She is 10 years old. She always does what her mom asks her to do. If her mother says, “tidy up your room,” Kathy tidies up her room. If her mother says, “go to bed,” Kathy goes to bed. Kathy is a very polite girl. A good girl listens to her parents. Her mother doesn’t have to ask her again. She asks her to do something once only, and she doesn’t ask again. Kathy is a good girl. She does what her mother asks the first time. She doesn’t need to ask again. She tells Kathy, “You are my best child.” Of course, Kathy is her best daughter. In fact, Kathy is her only child. Her dad loves her too. Everybody loves Kathy.

She wants to live a long life, too. She wants to live for two hundred years. She wants to live for 170 more years. “Mom, we will grow old together, okay?” Bob said to her mother. “Yes, son, we will grow old together,” she said to Bob. Then Bob smiled. He gave his mom a big hug. Do you think Bob can live 200 years?

Liam wants to buy a new bike. Now he is 18 years old. He has an old bike. His old bike is a black Yamaha. Liam wants to buy a new mountain Yamaha. He has saved $ 500. He will use $500 to help buy the new bike. He will give $ 500 to the bike dealer. The bike dealer will give him a contract to sign. According to the contract, he has to pay $100 a month for 2 years. His new blue Yamaha will cost Liam a lot of money. But that’s okay, because Liam is rich enough and he can make a lot of money. When he wants to buy something, he never gets help from his parents.

Linda is a light eater. She doesn’t eat much. She never eats a heavy food. Every day, she eats a light breakfast, a light lunch, and a light dinner. Linda is slim. She likes to be slim. She does not like to be fat. She will always be thin, because she is a light eater. She eats 5 pieces of biscuit with a glass of orange juice for breakfast. Sometimes She eats one egg for breakfast with coffee. She eats a small sandwich for lunch. Sometimes it’s a tuna sandwich. She likes fish. She never eats rice for dinner. All she eats for dinner is fruit and vegetables. She will never get fat.

James likes jokes. He likes to hear jokes. He likes to tell jokes too. He told his dad a joke. When he finished, he waited for his dad to laugh. “Dad, why aren’t you laughing? That was a funny joke,” James said. “Oh, I’m sorry,” his dad said. “Sometimes you think something is funny, but someone else thinks it isn’t funny.” So, James’ dad did not laugh at his joke. James told the same story to his younger brothers. His younger brothers laughed at the story. He said the same joke to his friends at school. They laughed a lot, but his grandfather did not laugh at the joke.

Simon washes his hands every day. He likes to wash his hands regularly. He washes his hands with soap and water. He uses soap and lukewarm water to wash his hands. He washes his hands for 20 seconds. After 20 seconds, he stops washing his hands. He turns off the faucet and dries his hands on a clean white towel. After repairing something or gardening he turns on the faucet and washes his hands. Simon has very clean hands. Everybody likes Simon because he has clean hands. Germs cannot survive on his clean hands.

Mary’s grades matter so much to her. She is 13 years old. She studies hard most of the time. She studies everywhere she goes; at the library, at the restaurant, even at family gatherings! She studies at every place. Her friends make fun of her but Mary doesn’t care it. She always gets good grade, ‘A’, most of the time. Mary is an intelligent girl.

She gives it to the salesperson. The salesperson gives her back the card and the books.

Nancy woke up, because she heard a cat. She heard a cat meowing outside her window. Nancy woke up when she heard the cat meowing. She got out of bed and walked to the window of her bedroom. She looked out of the window. She saw a small white cat. It was meowing too loud. Nancy opened her window. She looked at the cat. “Why are you meowing so loud?” she asked the cat. The cat looked at Nancy. Then it stopped meowing. The cat ran into Nancy’s room. It was scared. In Nancy’s room the cat was safe.

Mary lost her black pen. She could not find it. “Where is my black pen?” she asked her mother. Her mother did not know. “I don’t know where your black pen is,” she said. Mary thought about it. She thought and thought. She used her black pen before lunch. She used it to write a short note to her teacher. The note said, “Dear teacher, thank you so much for helping me. Mary.” She put the note in an envelope. Where was the envelope? She looked in the living room. She looked at the coffee table in the living room. She found the envelope. It was next to the vase. She found the black pen.

“Can I ride my horse, dad?” Ali asked his daddy. Ali loved to ride his horse. Ali has a white horse. He rode his horse almost every Sunday. “Okay, son, get ready to go,” his dad said. Ali was really happy. He went into his bedroom. He put his dark blue socks on. He put his dark blue sneakers on. He wore his dark blue hat. He went to the front door. “I’m going to wait in the car,” he told his dad. “Okay, I’ll be there in a minute,” his dad said. Ali opened the car door. He sat down in the rear seat. He started listening to music on his mobile phone. He was so excited. He is a horse- riding champion.

Dorothy sat down for lunch. She sat down on the chair. She sat down at the table. Her plate was light yellow. She looked at her wooden fork. She looked at her wooden spoon. Her dad said, “Pass me your plate, please, Dorothy.” Her dad put some rice on the plate. Her dad put some beef and mashed potato on her plate. Her dad put green peas on her plate too. He gave the plate back to Dorothy. “It looks tasty,” Dorothy said. “It is delicious,” her dad said. Her dad filled her glass with water. Dorothy likes Coca Cola too. Dorothy wondered why beef was red. She wondered why peas were green. By the way, she loved the food.

Olivia sang a song. She sang the song while she was walking to nursery school. The name of the song was “old MacDonald has a farm…” Olivia liked to sing that song. It was her favorite song to sing. She sang it every day while she was walking to nursery school. Sometimes she sang it with her best friend, Jenny. Sometimes her best friend walked to school with Olivia. Then they both sang the song together. Olivia liked the song because it was easy to remember the words. “Old Macdonald has a farm…” has easy words to remember. She has a good voice too.

Sara took the carton of the chocolate milk out of the refrigerator. She put it on the dining table. She took the cap off the carton. Then, she opened the kitchen cabinet. She took a big glass out of the cabinet. She put the glass on the dining table next to the carton. She poured some chocolate milk into the glass. She put the cap back on the carton. She put the carton back into the refrigerator. She took the honey jar out of the cabinet. She poured some honey into the glass of chocolate milk too. She stirred it with a tea spoon. She licked the spoon. She drank it. It was sweet and tasty.

Patrick was in short of time. It was time to go to work. He works for National Bank in London. He did not want to be late for work. He would lose his job if he was late. He drank all his tea. He put the tea cup in the kitchen sink. He turned on the kitchen faucet. He washed the cup. He turned off the faucet. He picked up his car keys. The keys were on the coffee table in the living room. He grabbed his blue coat. His blue coat was on the chair. The chair was next to the TV. He left the house at 7:30. He locked the door of the house. He started his car and drove to the bank. If his car did not start, he could not reach on time.

Mira was ready to go to bed. It was 10:30 o’clock. She had to get up early morning the next day. The next day, he wanted to go fishing. Fish wake up early. They look for food in the early morning and late at night. The best time to fish is early morning or late at night. The fish get hungry at these two times. Mira set his alarm. She set his alarm for 5 o’clock. The next day, she would start fishing at 6:30 o’clock. She wanted to catch six or seven fish. If she caught six or seven fish, she could eat fresh fish all week. If she forgets her fishing equipment, she cannot catch any fish. Fresh fish is the best food. Mira went to bed. In the morning, Mira woke up at 5 o’clock and went fishing with her grandfather.

Ella found a black glass bottle. She found the black glass bottle in the back yard. It was a pretty glass bottle. She looked inside the black bottle. She couldn’t see anything. She shook the bottle. Something came out of the bottle. It landed on the ground. It was a bug. Ella picked up the bug. she looked at it. The bug looked at Ella. Ella put the bottle and the bug back on the ground. The bug turned around the bottle and crawled back into the bottle. The bug was living inside the bottle. The black bottle was the bug’s home. It seemed the bug was happy in the bottle. Ella put the bottle by the cherry tree.

Bella never opens the front door, because she is only 6 years old. When someone knocks on the front door, Bella asks, “Who is it?” Her parents told her to keep the door closed. Her parents want her to be safe. She will be safe if she doesn’t open the door. The day before yesterday, someone knocked on the front door. “Who is it?” Bella asked. “It’s the mailman,” the person said. “I’m sorry, I cannot open the door,” Bella said. “Okay, I will come back tomorrow,” the mailman said. “Goodbye,” Bella said. Bella is a cautious girl. She listens to her parents. She doesn’t open the door for any person. She does not trust strangers. She is learning how to protect herself.

Henry pulled the trash bin out to the street. He did it every Sunday night. Sunday night is the trash time. The trash truck came to his house. The truck had two metal arms. The metal arms picked up the trash bin. They raised the trash bin into the sky. It emptied the trash bin into the truck. Then the arms put the can back on the street. On Monday morning Henry walked out to the street. The trash bin was empty. He pulled the trash can back into his yard. Next Sunday night, he would pull it out to the street again. However, it is boring, it is necessary. Humans need to keep the rubbish away from their life.

Clara was not hot. She was not warm either. She was cold. The weather was not hot. The weather was not warm either. The weather was cold. Clara did not like to be cold. She looked for her pullover. She found her pullover. She put on her pullover, but she was still cold. She looked at the windows. They were all closed. None of the windows were open. She looked at the front and back doors. The doors were not open. They were closed. She was still cold. She understood that the heater was off. She turned on the heater.

Christian wrote a letter to his brother. Christian lives in London, but his brother is living in another city. He lives in York. His brother did not have a computer. Neither did he. His brother didn’t like to use the phone a lot. Neither did he. He wrote his brother a long letter. He told him the news in his life. He told him that he found a new job in a restaurant. He told him that he had a new friend from Morocco. He told him that he had a new motor bike. He had lots of news for his brother. His brother would be happy to read his letter. His brother is a carpenter in York. He works for a construction company. Then he would send him a letter too. His letter would have lots of news, too.

Then he vacuumed his whole apartment and cleaned all the windows.

Some people like to live in a big city, but some prefer to live in the countryside. Living in the city has its own advantages. Normally, prestigious universities and schools, well-equipped hospitals, sports centers, qualified restaurants are all in big cities.
But some people like living in countryside, because they believe the weather in countryside is fresh, food is cheaper and people are friendlier. They think they don’t need facilities of the big cities.
